About Museo de Arte Tigre

The Museo de Arte Tigre occupies the building of the former Tigre Club, opened in 1912 as a social club and casino frequented by Buenos Aires' elite. The building stands at the end of the Paseo Victorica, facing the Luján River.

The construction is one of the best-known examples of Belle Époque architecture in the region. It features a façade with towers and terraces, and the interior preserves halls with painted ceilings, chandeliers, staircases and iron and woodwork.

The museum opened in 2006 after the building's restoration. The collection gathers Argentine painting and sculpture from the 19th and 20th centuries, with works linked to regional themes such as the river, the Delta and life in Tigre.

From the terrace and gardens you can see the Luján River and the movement of boats and rowers. The museum offers guided tours that tell the history of the building and the club.
