Who we are

A travel guide for Uruguay.

Ciudad Turismo in Uruguay brings together, destination by destination, what you need to plan travel around the country: what to do, when to go, how to get there, and how long to stay in each town.

7 destinations 7 departments 12 cities

Across Cidade Turismo: 43 countries · 78 routes · 568 destinations · 1,512 cities

What the guide covers

The guide starts with Montevideo and continues to the most popular places: Colonia del Sacramento, Punta del Este, the Rocha coast, the hot springs of Salto, and the wineries of Canelones.

Each destination brings together the towns in the region, what to do in each, individual pages for attractions, when to go, and how to get there.

Departments and short distances

Uruguay is divided into departments, and the guide organizes towns by department.

The country is small and borders Brazil and Argentina. You can arrive by plane, bus, or car, and travel times between towns are usually a few hours by road. The time zone is UTC−3.

Why there are no prices

Outside Brazil, the guide does not show tour or ticket prices because they change frequently. The text notes when there is an entrance fee or charge, and the amount should be checked before you go.

How the content is made

The information for each place is researched from official sources, such as Uruguay’s tourism authorities and the departments, municipal governments, and the attractions themselves, and is checked before being published.

The pictures in this guide are illustrations based on the real place, not photographs, and may differ from it. Photos sent by travelers appear separately, as travelers' photos.

If you find any information that differs, write to us: fixing it is quicker than it seems.

All of Cidade Turismo

The guide started in Brazil and now also covers other countries, always with the same organization: routes, destinations and cities.
