A region to enjoy
at your own pace.

Karlovy Vary develops in the Teplá valley, with colonnades and façades running along the river. The Mill Colonnade and the Hot Spring Colonnade show different architectural languages. The city can be the first base for exploring the spa tradition of western Bohemia.

Mariánské Lázně adds parks and a cast-iron colonnade. Františkovy Lázně has a smaller-scale core and pavilions connected by green areas. The three are part of the Great Spa Towns of Europe heritage. The circuit can be done as a trip focused on architecture and landscape, without relying on treatments.

In the surroundings, Loket Castle, the mining landscape of Jáchymov and the Soos reserve extend the outings. Buses and regional trains serve the bases, but connections between them should be checked before scheduling visits. The region requires more nights than a single day trip from Prague when the goal is to visit all three towns.

This destination brings together 3 cities: Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně, Františkovy Lázně.

Kolonáda Maxima Gorkého

The main colonnade of Mariánské Lázně accompanies the spa center and the city's parks. Its cast-iron structure and neobaroque decoration create a covered promenade distinct from the stone colonnades of Karlovy Vary. The complex allows observation of the relationship between architecture and lingering in the gardens.
