About Playa Juanillo
Playa Juanillo is at the southern tip of Punta Cana’s coast, inside the Cap Cana area, and is often listed among the region’s most beautiful beaches. The sand is fine and very white, the sea a light turquoise, and it stays shallow for a good distance because a coral reef breaks the waves far from shore.
The shoreline is shaded by rows of palm trees, with no high-rise buildings on the sand. The name comes from the former fishing village of Juanillo that once stood there before the resort. Today part of the beach is occupied by beach clubs and restaurants that sell day access with loungers, shade and lunch.
It’s a beach for relaxed swimming, kayaking and walking along the sand. The clear water allows you to see fish near the reef with a snorkel mask. Because access goes through Cap Cana’s gates, it’s less crowded than Bávaro’s beaches.
