The city
Stone market town on the banks of the River Wye, the only one inside the Peak District National Park. It has a medieval bridge, a weekly market on Mondays and gives its name to the Bakewell pudding. Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are a few kilometres away, and the Monsal Trail starts at the town’s former station.
