The city

What to expect from Hahei.

Hahei is a small beach village on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, with a few hundred permanent residents and many holiday homes. It is the departure point for the track and water taxis to Cathedral Cove and for kayak and boat trips in the Te Whanganui-A-Hei Marine Reserve. Hot Water Beach, with its thermal springs in the sand, lies about 8 km to the south.
