About Termas de Outariz

The Termas de Outariz are on the right bank of the river Miño, about 4 km from the center of Ourense. They are outdoor thermal pools connected by wooden walkways, set among the riverside vegetation. It is the most popular place in the city to bathe in the hot waters that made Ourense famous.

The baths are at the end of the riverside thermal walk, a path along the river that passes other springs and thermal wells. The walk can be done on foot or by bicycle, and there is a city bus and a tourist train that links the center to the baths.

Access is usually subject to limits on the number of people and time of stay, and rules require showering before entering and wearing swimwear. When the Miño rises a lot, the pools on the bank may close for a few days.

Bathing is usually more pleasant in the late afternoon, at night or on cold days, when the contrast between air and water is greater.
