How many days

One day for the two beaches, the old town and the Balcón del Mediterráneo. With two days you can add the boat to the island of Benidorm and an afternoon in Guadalest or Fonts de l'Algar, by car or on an excursion.

When to go

From May to June and from September to October there is usually sun, good sea conditions and fewer people. July and August are crowded and hot. In winter the town remains busy, popular with European retirees, with mild weather, sunny days and cold water.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

For the beach and the old town, no: everything can be done on foot or by city bus. For Guadalest and Fonts de l'Algar, a car helps, although there are buses and excursions. Parking near the beach in summer is difficult.
