About Henriques Waterfall
Cachoeira dos Henriques, also called Cachoeira dos Martins, is a drop of the Rio Capivari formed by several cascades that together reach about 100 meters. It lies on the border of the municipalities of Gonçalves and Paraisópolis, within the APA Fernão Dias area in the Serra da Mantiqueira.
Access is via the dirt road of the Henriques neighborhood, about 9–10 km from downtown Gonçalves; the visitor area is on the Paraisópolis side. The car is left near the top of the waterfall, where the river forms a pool for bathing before plunging down.
A short trail along the top, to the left of the summit, leads to viewpoints of the fall and descends to the lower pool. The rocks near the water become slippery.
