About Sea World

Sea World opened in 1971 in Main Beach, at the northern end of Surfers Paradise beach, between the sea and the Broadwater. It is a theme park with marine animals and works on the rescue and rehabilitation of injured animals found on the Queensland coast, such as turtles and dolphins.

The dolphin shows take place in a covered arena, and the seal and sea lion shows in another area. Polar Bear Shores houses polar bears, Penguin Encounter hosts king penguins and gentoo penguins in a cold environment, and Shark Bay is a lagoon with sharks and rays viewed through underwater windows.

Rides range from the Storm Coaster, a water roller coaster, and Leviathan, a wooden coaster, to children’s attractions and a monorail that runs through the park. Each ride has its own minimum height requirement.

The park is part of the same group as Movie World and Wet'n'Wild, with combo passes available. There are also paid animal experiences.
