Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

Check before booking. Flights arrive at Cape Town (CPT), about 560 km via the N7, roughly a 6-hour drive. Springbok has a small regional airport; confirm whether flights operate at the time of your trip. Long-distance buses to Namibia stop in the town.

How many days

One day for Goegap and the town; two days to include the mountain passes Wildeperdehoek and Messelpad and the region's flowering farms. In the flower season, Springbok serves as a base for the whole area.

When to go

The flower season usually runs from August to September, depending on winter rainfall. Summers are very hot and dry; winters have mild days and cold nights.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Yes. Goegap, the passes and Kamieskroon lie outside the town, and there is no public transport to them. Driving is on the left.
