The city

What to expect from Springbok.

Springbok is the main town of Namaqualand, on the N7, about 560 km from Cape Town and 120 km from the Namibian border. It grew out of copper mining, discovered there in 1685 by Governor Simon van der Stel. About 15 km away is the Goegap Nature Reserve, with granite, succulent plants and, in spring, fields of flowers.
