Frequently asked questions
Is it better to visit the Şanlıurfa museum before Göbekli Tepe?
The museum provides context and objects that help understand the region's occupation. Going first can enrich interpretation of the site; if logistics require the reverse order, allow time to relate the two visits afterward.
Is Göbekli Tepe within walking distance from Şanlıurfa center?
The site is outside the urban area and requires round-trip transport. Do not plan the visit as a walking continuation from Balıklıgöl or the central museums.
Are two days enough in Şanlıurfa?
Two days allow you to fit Göbekli Tepe, Balıklıgöl and the museums with less haste. Harran adds its own excursion; Nemrut requires another base and does not fit as a short extension from the center.
Is Haleplibahçe part of the Şanlıurfa Museum?
The mosaic museum has its own building and route within the same visitor area. Allow separate time for each collection, as viewing the mosaics does not substitute the archaeological displays.
