About Hierapolis Örenyeri
Hierapolis occupies the plateau above the Pamukkale terraces. The presence of thermal waters helped shape the history of the ancient city. Its remains show an urban layout that requires its own walking and should not be treated as a distant backdrop viewed from the white slope.
The theater, streets and necropolis represent different functions of the settlement. The route can be shorter or longer, depending on the sectors chosen. The museum in the old bath structures has its own visit; the ancient pool is another part of the complex, with usage conditions to verify.
Set your return and exit gate before starting the longer sections. There is a lot of open ground and the distances between sectors add up in the total time. The experience becomes clearer when you separate observing the natural landscape from reading the city, even though both can be done the same day.
