Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

Dalaman airport (DLM) is the usual arrival point, with a road transfer to Marmaris. Intercity buses link the base to towns in the region; confirm onward travel to the neighborhood of your accommodation.

How many days

Three nights for the castle, the urban waterfront, İçmeler and a boat trip; extend your stay if you want to continue to the Datça peninsula.

When to go

May, June, September and October usually have milder temperatures. July and August are hot, and navigation depends on the wind and sea conditions.

Do you need a car?

Unnecessary for the castle and the center. Local transport serves İçmeler; a vehicle or an organized excursion helps reach more distant embarkation points and coves.
