Selçuk – Esmirna Destination Éfeso and Kuşadası about 74 km from Esmirna

How to get there

Arrive via Izmir airport and arrange onward travel by train or road to Selçuk. There are regional train and bus connections, with transfers to check. From Kuşadası, use local transport or a taxi to the site and the town.

How many days

Two to three nights allow you to separate Ephesus, the core of Selçuk and outings to the hillside and Şirince.

When to go

April to June and September to October usually have better temperatures for archaeology. July and August are hot; winter days are shorter and can be rainy.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

It is not necessary in the centre. Taxi, local transport or a tour serve the site; a car makes it easier to combine the hillside and the village without relying on connections.
