Juan Dolio – San Pedro de Macorís Destination Santo Domingo

How to get there

  • Aeropuerto Internacional de Las Américas (SDQ) Punta Caucedo · 25 km

Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

It is about 55 km from the Ciudad Colonial and about 25 km from Las Américas airport, via the Las Américas highway and the road to San Pedro de Macorís. From Santo Domingo, buses bound for San Pedro de Macorís and La Romana stop at the town entrance; taxis and ride‑hailing apps also reach there.

How many days

A day trip from Santo Domingo, or two or three nights for those who want a quiet beach near the capital without going all the way to Punta Cana.

When to go

From December to April it usually rains less. From June to November is hurricane season, with downpours and sometimes rough seas. Weekends and holidays fill the public sections of the beach.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Not essential: the beach avenue concentrates hotels, apartments and restaurants, and there are buses, taxis and ride‑hailing apps to get there. A car helps to explore the coast from Guayacanes to San Pedro de Macorís and to return to the capital at the desired time.
