Confirm before buying. Morelia International Airport (MLM) is about 27 km from the center, with authorized taxis. The bus station is about 4 km from the center, with buses to Mexico City, Guadalajara and Pátzcuaro.

How many days

Two days for the historic center, the aqueduct and the museums.

When to go

From October to May, in the dry season. In October, the Morelia International Film Festival brings activity to the city.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Not needed for the center, which is walked on foot. For Pátcuaro and the butterflies, bus, tour or car.

Start at the cathedral and see Alfredo Zalce’s murals in the Government Palace opposite.
Afternoon
College and sweets market
Continue along the Colegio de San Nicolás and the sweets and crafts market.

Aqueduct and Callejón del Romance
Walk along the Fray Antonio de San Miguel promenade to the aqueduct and the Callejón del Romance.
Evening
Illuminated cathedral
Return to the cathedral to see the illumination; on Saturdays there is usually a light show and fireworks.
