About Centro de Santiago e Presa La Boca

Santiago’s center has cobblestone streets with 19th-century houses, thick walls and windows with iron grilles, surrounding the plaza and the church of Santiago Apóstol, built in the 18th century. The houses host shops selling sweets, crafts and restaurants.

About 3 km from the center, the La Boca reservoir forms a lake between the mountains, used for boat rides, kayaking, water-skiing and watching the sunset. There are restaurants and viewpoints around it.

The town is a base for mountain excursions such as the Matacanes and Hidrofobia canyons, which are done only with certified guides.

On weekends the center receives many visitors from Monterrey.
