About Playa Los Cerritos
Playa Los Cerritos is a long light-sand beach on the Pacific side, about 12 km south of Todos Santos. Sheltered by a rocky point to the north, it has more consistent waves than neighboring beaches, making it the most used spot in the region for learning to surf.
On the sand there are surf schools offering lessons and board rentals, some restaurants and a beach club. The northern end, by the point, usually has calmer water; along the rest of the beach the waves and currents can be strong, and flags indicate where it is safe to enter.
Between late summer and autumn, sea turtles often nest on regional beaches, and local conservation projects carry out hatchling release events on some nights, open to visitors.
Sunset over the Pacific is the busiest time at the beach.
