About Playa El Médano
Playa El Médano is the busiest beach in Cabo San Lucas, a stretch of sand about 3 km long in front of the bay, between the marina and the hotels. Sheltered by the tip of Land's End, it usually has calm water, good for swimming.
From the sand you can see El Arco at the back of the bay. The beach has restaurants and beach clubs, kayak and paddleboard rentals, jet skis and boat tours, and it’s from here that many water taxis leave for Playa del Amor.
In winter, humpback whales can be seen breaching in the distance at the bay entrance from the beach. Street vendors circulate on the sand offering crafts and tours.
For those seeking quiet, the stretch farther from the marina is more peaceful. The beach is public, like all beaches in Mexico.
