About Museo de la Vid y el Vino
The Museum of the Vine and Wine opened in 2012 at the entrance to Valle de Guadalupe, in a modern concrete-and-wood building on a hill. It tells the history of wine in Mexico, from the arrival of the first vines with Spanish missionaries in the 16th century.
The rooms explain grape cultivation, the valley’s soils and climate, the varieties planted and the winemaking process, with objects, tools and panels.
The terrace offers views of the vineyards and surrounding rocky hills, and the museum points out the valley’s wineries for visitors.
It’s a good place to start to understand the region before touring the wineries.
