About Loro Parque

Loro Parque opened in 1972, in the Punta Brava neighborhood, as a small parrot park (loro in Spanish), and grew into a large zoological park with about 13 hectares of gardens. It is a private company and maintains a foundation for the conservation of threatened species.

The Planet Penguin, a refrigerated building with artificial snow, houses penguins and Antarctic birds. There are also gorillas, chimpanzees, tigers, jaguars, an aquarium with sharks and a flamingo enclosure.

The park has shows with dolphins, sea lions and orcas throughout the day, as well as tropical gardens, restaurants and shops.

Admission is charged and there are combined tickets with Siam Park, the water park of the same group in the south of the island.
