About Fonts de l'Algar
The Fonts de l'Algar are a series of waterfalls and natural pools along the course of the Algar river, in the municipality of Callosa d'en Sarrià, about 15 km from Benidorm. The water springs from sources in the mountains and flows down limestone steps, forming green- and blue-colored pools surrounded by vegetation.
A route of walkways, stairs and trails follows the river for about 1.5 km, passing waterfalls several meters high. Swimming is allowed in some pools; the water is cold year-round, which attracts many visitors in summer.
The site also has a small botanical garden with regional plants, a museum about water and river use, and an area of loquat trees, a fruit typical of Callosa, cultivated on the valley terraces.
Access is paid and controlled, with nearby parking and restaurants at the entrance.

Bring swimwear, a towel and water shoes for the rocks. The water is cold even in August. Combine it with Guadalest on the same day if you are driving.
