About Kalø Slotsruin

Kalø Slotsruin is located on a small peninsula in Kalø Vig, within Mols Bjerge National Park. The medieval castle was sited surrounded by water and its access was controlled by a narrow causeway. The walk across the isthmus remains a central part of the visit.

The site should be viewed as a ruin: there are walls, structures and the presence of the tower, but not the complete interiors of a preserved castle. The route allows you to relate the remains to the coastline layout and the historical access. The stones of the causeway are part of the site's historical reading.

Access is from the Rønde area, not from central Ebeltoft. Allow a separate period for the drive, the walk to the ruins and the return. The stop can be combined with other parts of the park, but does not need to be fitted into a long trail on the same day.
