About Aldeia das Águas Park Resort
Aldeia das Águas is a water park with a hotel in the district of Dorândia, in Barra do Piraí, in the Vale do Café, about 120 km from the city of Rio de Janeiro. The complex covers roughly 330,000 square meters, including pools, water slides, lawns, restaurants and snack bars.
The best-known attraction is the Kilimanjaro, a 49.9-meter-tall water slide registered in the Guinness World Records. The descent is done lying down, without a tube, on an incline of about 60 degrees, and can reach 100 km/h. Other adrenaline rides include the Side Winder, where the tube rises and falls along the walls of a funnel, and the Rampa Yuppie, a wide ramp ridden on a tube.
For those who just want to stay in the water, there is the wave pool, the Rio Corrente—traversed on a tube—and themed pools named after places in Brazil, such as Pantanal, Pelourinho and Beagá. Children have the Aldeia dos Piratinhas, a ship full of slides, jets and buckets in shallow water, and the Carioca Kids pool. There is also a small farm with animals and a zipline, charged separately.
The complex has its own hotel for those who want to stay more than one day, and it also hosts tour groups. The Vale do Café region, with its historic coffee estates, lies nearby.
