The city

What to expect from Araxá.

Araxá, in the Alto Paranaíba, is a hydrothermal spa town known for the sulfurous and radioactive waters of the Complexo do Barreiro, about 5 km from the center, where the Fonte Dona Beja, Fonte Andrade Júnior, the lake and the 1940s thermal complex with gardens by Burle Marx are located. The town preserves the memory of Dona Beja, a 19th‑century figure, and is land of Minas cheeses and sweets.
