How many days

Two days: one for Kings Park, Elizabeth Quay and the museum; another for Cottesloe and Swan Valley or Caversham. Fremantle, Rottnest and the Pinnacles need separate days.

When to go

In spring, September to November, with pleasant days and the flowers at Kings Park. Summer is hot and dry, with a sea breeze in the late afternoon; winter brings most of the rainfall.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Not needed for the city: trains, buses and ferries cover the CBD, the beaches and Fremantle, with payment by transport card or contactless. For Swan Valley, Caversham and the Pinnacles, a car or an organized tour helps; in Australia you drive on the left.
