About Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk

The Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk is a walk through a privately owned rainforest area in North Tamborine, opened in 2009. The roughly 1.5 km route combines ground-level forest trails with about 300 metres of steel treetop walkways.

The highlight is the swinging bridge, 40 metres long, which projects over the valley about 30 metres above Cedar Creek, with views down to the canopy. Along the way there are interpretive panels about the forest’s plants and animals, a butterfly lookout and rock pools in the creek.

The walk is self-guided and takes about 45 minutes at a relaxed pace. The route is suitable for prams with large wheels, with some steps, and the first walkway has wheelchair access.

The visitor centre has an exhibition about the forest, a café and a shop. On some nights there are guided walks to see nocturnal animals.
