Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.

From George, the arrival city, it’s about 15 km via the N2, roughly a 15-minute drive. George Airport (GRJ) is about 15 km away. Long-distance buses stop in George.

How many days

One day for the Map of Africa viewpoint, the Kingfisher trail in the park and the beach. Many people use the village as a quiet base for George and Knysna.

When to go

Mild climate year-round. Summer is the beach season; spring and autumn are good for hiking. The park’s waterfalls usually have more water after rainy periods.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Yes, for the Map of Africa viewpoint and to continue along the Garden Route. Within the village, the beach and the park entrance are close.
