About Didim Apollon Tapınağı

The Temple of Apollo is in the old core of Didim and was part of an oracle sanctuary known as Didyma. It was not the center of a large residential city like Éfeso. The visit focuses on the building and its ceremonial spaces.

The columns, the reliefs and the scale of the passages show the planned magnitude of the temple. The inner courtyard and the level differences help to understand a monument whose experience does not depend on being complete. Observe details without climbing on surfaces off the route.

Access through the neighborhood allows for a relatively concentrated visit, but the enclosure is exposed to the sun. Bring water and choose a cooler period. Miletus and Priene can extend the archaeological circuit, provided the road and time at each site are calculated separately.
