About Ihlara Vadisi
The Ihlara valley follows the Melendiz River between rock walls, with paths along the bottom of the canyon.
Churches carved into the slopes reflect the presence of Christian communities in the region. The walk combines water, vegetation and volcanic tuff, without repeating the open scenery of the fairy chimneys. There are different entrances and routes; it is not necessary to cross the entire length to experience the environment.
Choose the stretch according to your willingness to climb stairs and the return arrangements. Some exits lie in other villages, and the end of the walk must be coordinated with transport. The churches open to visitors vary depending on the circuit: consider the valley as a whole of landscape and heritage.

There are routes between different accesses. Choose the stretch before you arrive and have the pickup transport arranged, especially if you finish in Belisırma or another village.
