About Zelve Açık Hava Müzesi
Zelve occupies valleys with ancient dwellings and religious spaces carved into Cappadocia’s tuff.
The complex allows you to observe a landscape that was also a place of residence and work. The façades opened into the rock, the paths and the cavities help to understand a way of life tied to the characteristics of the terrain. Reading the site requires walking through different sectors, rather than reducing the visit to a single formation.
Use only the passages that are open and consider the changes in elevation when choosing your route. Zelve and Paşabağ are close but offer different experiences: here the focus is on the excavated settlement and the organization of the valleys. Allow a pause between the two so the visit doesn’t become a sequence of quick photographs.
