When to go
Side usually pairs sightseeing and beach better in May, June, September and October. Among the exposed ruins, July and August can be very hot; from November to March rain plays a larger role in planning.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?

Frequently asked questions
Can you visit Side’s old town on foot?
The core occupies a peninsula and allows walking between the streets and the harbor area. Accommodations along the coast can be far from that area; check the location before booking.
Is Side good for combining ruins and beach?
Yes: the Temple of Apollo and the remains of the old town can take up part of the day, leaving another period for the coast. Sea conditions and heat guide the order of the visit.
Is Side within Manavgat?
Side belongs to the Manavgat district, but the inland service center and the tourist core on the peninsula are different references. When requesting transport, indicate the sector of the accommodation or the old town.
Is it better to sleep in Side or do a day trip from Antalya?
A day trip works for a concentrated visit to the peninsula. Staying in Side makes more sense if the plan includes beach days, avoiding repeating the coastal transfer from Antalya.
