About Playa Sosúa
Playa Sosúa sits in a horseshoe-shaped bay, sheltered by stone cliffs on both sides, which keeps the sea calm and clear most of the year—a rarity on the Atlantic coast. The sand is light and the beach strip narrow, shaded by sea almond trees and coconut palms.
On the sand there is a row of shacks, bars and restaurants, craft vendors and boats that go out to the reefs. The corals are just a few meters from the beach, and with a mask you can already see colorful fish; dive schools take people to the deeper walls of the bay.
On one side of the bay is the more popular neighborhood of Los Charamicos; on the other, El Batey, the town center founded by the Jewish settlers. A staircase and a ramp connect the beach to the streets above.
