About Playa Cosón
Playa Cosón stretches about 6 km west of Las Terrenas, between Punta Bonita and Punta Cosón. It is a wide beach of fine golden sand, with dense coconut groves that reach almost to the water and a sea of green and blue tones, calmer than neighboring beaches because it sits in an open bay with a gentle seabed.
There are sections with hotels and beachfront restaurants and long empty stretches good for walking. At the western extreme, near Punta Cosón, the beach becomes even more secluded. From the hill behind it, a viewpoint overlooks the whole bay.
Just to the east lies Playa Bonita, a smaller strip between the town and Punta Bonita, with steady waves that attract surfers and surf schools. The two beaches connect along the sand and can be visited on the same day.
