About Salto de Baiguate

The Salto de Baiguate is on the Baiguate river, a few kilometers from Jarabacoa, and is a waterfall that is wider than it is tall, dropping from a vegetated rock wall into a broad pool. The setting is dense forest, with the river forming small rapids before and after the fall.

Access is via a roughly 20-minute trail from the parking area, along a dirt and rocky path that follows the river, with sections of steps. Many do the route on horseback, offered by the region’s tourist farms.

When the river is calm, you can swim in the pool and get close to the fall. It’s an easy, popular outing for families and pairs well with the Salto de Jimenoa on the same day.
