About Playa Paraíso
Playa Paraíso sits just south of the archaeological zone, at the start of the coastal road that continues toward Sian Ka'an. It is a long beach of fine white sand, with coconut palms leaning over the sea and water in bands of blue and green, partly protected by the reef.
From the northern stretch of the beach you can see the Castillo of Tulum on the cliff, one of the views most often photographed in the Riviera Maya. Further south, the beach continues with beach clubs, kiosks and quieter stretches of sand.
By law, beach access is public; some beach clubs charge for chairs and shade. On windy days the sea becomes rougher and there can be currents.
From April to August there may be sargassum; at other times the sand is usually clean.
