The city

What to expect from Loreto.

Loreto is a small town on the Gulf of California, founded in 1697 around the first mission of the Californias, and was the region’s first capital. It has a historic center with the mission of Nuestra Señora de Loreto, a malecón and sits opposite the Bahía de Loreto National Park, with islands, dolphins and, in winter, blue whales. In the mountains, the mission of San Javier completes the visit. It is a Pueblo Mágico.
