The city
Pisté is the village next to the Chichén Itzá archaeological site, about 2 km from the main entrance. It grew up along the highway, with hotels, restaurants and craft shops catering to visitors to the ruins. Sleeping there allows you to enter Chichén Itzá at opening, before the tours arrive. About 3 km away is the Ik Kil cenote.
