About Mirador del Divisadero

The Divisadero viewpoint is next to the train station, on the edge of a cliff about 1,800 meters above the floor of the Urique canyon. From there you can see the meeting of three canyons: the Cobre, Urique and Tararecua, against a backdrop of cliffs and mountains.

At the bottom of the canyon runs the Urique River, and in the lower part the climate is warm, with tropical vegetation. Rarámuri communities live on the slopes, and you can sometimes see houses and fields from a distance.

Next to the viewpoint are food stalls, such as gorditas made by Rarámuri women, and handicrafts. A few kilometers away the adventure park has a cable car over the canyon and zip lines.

Trails follow the rim and allow you to see the canyon from different angles. The light of late afternoon and sunrise changes the colors of the rocks.
