About Cascada de Cusárare

The Cusárare waterfall is near the Rarámuri village of the same name, about 25 km south of Creel. The river water drops about 30 meters over a rock wall, surrounded by pines.

A trail of about 3 km starts from the village and follows the river up to the top of the waterfall, then descends to a viewpoint in front of the fall. The path is mostly flat, with stones.

The village has an eighteenth-century Jesuit mission with paintings made by Rarámuri artists and a small museum of religious art.

The waterfall has more water from July to October, after the rains; at the end of the dry season, in April and May, the flow decreases considerably.
