The Yasawa Flyer, which departs from Port Denarau Marina, stops near Naviti and Drawaqa, and accommodations meet passengers with launches. The boat trip to Naviti takes about 3 hours.

How many days

Two or three nights, to have more than one chance to swim with the mantas and snorkel on the reefs.

When to go

From May to October, when the manta rays tend to appear in the channel and the days are drier. Between November and April heat and rain increase, and there is a risk of cyclones.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

No. There are no roads for cars; you walk and excursions are by boat.

Is it guaranteed to see the mantas?

No. They usually appear during the season, but sightings depend on the tide and plankton.

About 3 hours on the boat that runs the Yasawa route.

Do you need to be a strong swimmer?

You need to be comfortable swimming in open sea, with a mask, snorkel and a vest if you prefer. The guide gives instructions on the boat.
