About Alpen Park
Alpen Park is in Canela, about 3 km from the Catedral de Pedra, in a green area on the mountainside. It started with a mountain sled imported from Germany and presents itself as the sled park; over time it added a roller coaster, drop rides and adventure attractions.
The alpine sled is the main attraction. The carts descend the slope on rails, through native forest, and the rider controls the speed with a brake lever.
The other attractions are for different tastes. The Fogo do Dragão roller coaster and the free-fall tower are the most adrenaline-filled; the 4D Cinema and Xerife 5D use motion seats and effects; the bumper car and Arena Big Land round out the list. In the adventure area are the ziplines, treetop course and quad bike rides.
Younger children have the Castelo Alpen Kids, with tunnels, obstacles, slides and a ball pit. The park has restaurants, a snack bar and a deck with a view of the valley. You pay per attraction or with a pass that includes several attractions, and each ride has height, weight and supervision rules.

Practical information
Cidade Turismo reviews its information regularly, but something may have changed. Check with the place before planning your trip.
How much time to set aside
Between 3 and 5 hours, depending on the number of attractions.
Best time
Open year-round, and there are covered attractions for rainy days, but the sled and outdoor activities may stop in heavy rain. Winter, from June to August, is cold; July, the summer holidays and Natal Luz are the busiest periods in the mountains.
How to get there
It is located on Rodovia Arnaldo Oppitz, in Canela, about 3 km from the Catedral de Pedra and about a 10-minute drive from downtown. From central Gramado it's about 20 minutes. The park has parking, and taxis and ride‑hailing apps reach the entrance.
Tip
If you plan to ride the sled several times, compare the pass with pay‑per‑ride prices. Go early on busy days, when the sled line is shorter. Bring a jacket even in summer: on the descent the wind is cold.
