The city
Bergville is a small farming town on the banks of the Tugela River, the gateway to the northern Drakensberg. About 45 km away is Royal Natal National Park, featuring the Amphitheatre, a cliff roughly 5 km wide, and the Tugela Falls, which plunge from it in several drops. On the other side of the escarpment, in the Free State, the Sentinel trail climbs chain ladders up to the top of the Amphitheatre.
