The city
Santiago de Querétaro is the capital of the state of Querétaro, at about 1,800 meters altitude, and has a Baroque historic center that is a World Heritage Site. Pedestrian streets link tree-lined plazas, churches and convents, and the aqueduct with 74 arches marks the city's entrance.
