About Playa de Bucerías
Bucerías beach stretches for several kilometers along the north shore of Bahía de Banderas, from Nuevo Vallarta to Punta de Mita. In front of the town the sand is wide and the seabed slopes gently, leaving calm water that is good for swimming and long walks.
Next to the town plaza the beach has seafood restaurants and a craft market selling silver, clothing and ceramics. The town has a simple church on the plaza and cobbled streets with galleries and restaurants.
In the afternoon, especially from February to May, the steady wind attracts kitesurfers, and there are schools offering lessons on the beach. In winter, humpback whales are sometimes seen from the sand.
You can walk along the beach to Nuevo Vallarta to the south in just over an hour.
