The city
Ciudad Valles is the largest city in the Huasteca Potosina and the most used base for exploring the region. It is a service town with a warm climate, at the junction of the roads to San Luis Potosí, Tampico and the mountains. From there the Micos waterfalls are a few minutes away and Tamasopo, Tamul and the Sótano de las Golondrinas are less than an hour and a half away.
