About Piscinas de lama de Sabeto (Sabeto Hot Springs and Mud Pool)

The Sabeto mud pools are in the Sabeto Valley between Nadi and Lautoka, on land owned by the local community. Heated water emerges from underground with a sulfur smell and feeds a series of mud and hot-water pools at varying temperatures, surrounded by forest.

The visit follows a simple ritual: enter the mud pool in swimwear, spread the mud over your body, wait for it to dry in the sun, then rinse off in the hot pools, finishing in the cleanest pool. Village staff show the route and often offer massages for an additional fee.

The site is rustic, with simple changing rooms and toilets, and is used by both tourists and locals. Some pools are very hot, so it’s best to enter slowly.

The excursion pairs well with the Garden of the Sleeping Giant a few minutes away, and it appears on many half-day itineraries from Nadi.
