A region to enjoy
at your own pace.

Yosemite is a trip of scenery and hikes in the California mountains. Yosemite Valley concentrates the granite walls of El Capitan and the views of Half Dome, with trails of varying effort and seasonal-flow waterfalls.

The sequoias of Mariposa Grove are in the southern sector, near the entrance accessed from Oakhurst; they are not in the town center of Mariposa. Mariposa, in turn, serves as a gateway base via Highway 140 and preserves a circuit of regional history.

High-elevation roads and certain trails commonly close in winter, while the valley can have different conditions. The choice of entrance affects the daily route and driving time. Check park access requirements and fees before booking, and do not assume rules are the same from one season to another.

This destination brings together 3 cities: Yosemite Valley, Mariposa, Oakhurst.
